Welcome to one of the most exciting departments at The University of Mississippi! The Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management is proud of high enrollments, nationally accredited programs, sustainable student and faculty retention, a commitment to student advising, and exemplary scholarship. We are passionate about our degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our B.S. in Hospitality Management program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) and offers optional emphasis areas in Foodservice, Lodging, and Event Management.

The B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and offers emphasis areas in Child Nutrition, Dietetics, and Health Sciences. M.S. in Food and Nutrition Services includes a Coordinated Program in Dietetics, which is accredited by the ACEND, The Online M.S. in Hospitality Management program offers 100% of its industry-driven coursework online.

The Ph.D. in Nutrition and Hospitality Management is among the fastest-growing programs on campus and includes emphasis areas in Nutrition (with concentrations in sports nutrition, nutrition policy, or general nutrition) and in Hospitality Management.

We also offer our students exciting exposures through collaborations with the Center for Health and Sport Performance and the Institute of Child Nutrition; various StudyUSA and Study Abroad courses; and multidimensional coursework spanning human development, consumer economics, and business applications.

Our department has three very active student organizations that attract scholarly- and service-minded students known for their creative approaches to service to the university and community.

Selected research topics addressed by NHM faculty and students include child nutrition, weight control, sports nutrition, nutrition epidemiology, food environment, food assistance programs, health and welfare, service management, hospitality finance, hospitality marketing, and food tourism. We are located in Lenoir Hall and offer applied approaches within our program to prepare students to be competitive in academic and professional markets.
