About OMASH

Created in December 2007, the Ole Miss Ambassadors for Southern Hospitality (OMASH) is a student-run organization designed to bridge the gap between student life and the professional world. OMASH provides students with industry knowledge, enriching experiences, and abundant networking opportunities while actively involved in giving back to the community.

Anyone Can Join!

Any students at the University of Mississippi are able to join OMASH, especially those within the Hospitality Management Program in the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management.

Activities

Students involved in OMASH are actively involved in many departmental events and industry networking experiences. Many of these activities include the following:

  • Tunica, Mississippi – Casino and Hotel Operation Tours
  • New Orleans, Louisiana – Restaurant and Tourism Tours
  • Tupelo, Mississippi Bridal – Show Expo Visits
  • Chef Throwdown
  • Crawfish Boils
  • Speaker Series from local, regional, and national hospitality industry professionals
  • Department tours for incoming students, parents, and alumni
