The Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management (NHM) is one of the fastest growing academic units at the University of Mississippi. Much of the increase in declared majors can be attributed to the dedicated, student-oriented faculty as well as academic programs designed to prepare professionals with a competitive edge in the exciting fields of Nutrition and Dietetics and Hospitality Management.

Our faculty is committed to making a difference in the lives of our students, and to improving the quality of life for all, especially the citizens of the Lafayette-Oxford-University and Mississippi communities. Selected research topics addressed by NHM faculty and students include child nutrition, weight control, sports nutrition, nutrition epidemiology, food environment, food assistance programs, health and welfare, service management, hospitality finance, hospitality marketing, and food tourism.
